Sunday in the NFL – Week 10, Seattle rushed, Deandre Hopkins sanctified!

Seattle falls again, the Ravens caught up in their own game and action of the year Deandre Hopkins, looking back at Sunday’s results of NFL Week 10.

Poster of the week

Seattle Seahawks [6-3] @ Los Angeles Rams [6-3] : 16-23

So far brilliant in almost every game he’s played this season, Russell Wilson (22/37, 248 yds, 2 INT) has faltered this week against a particularly troublesome Rams defense. Favorite MVP never seemed in it, exhausted (6 sacks cashed) in particular by a unleashed Leonard Floyd (3 sacks, 1 covered fumble). Without shining, Jared Goff (27/37, 302 yds) did not make any mistakes.

From the start of the meeting, Los Angeles went into attack, taking advantage of a Seattle defense that was much too lax. On their first three drives, the Rams scored a field goal and two TD, through Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown on the ground. On the other side, Seattle scored on his first drive then added a TD on the ground (10-17). The Seahawks even had the opportunity to pick up before the break by recovering the ball from the opposing 35 yds (strip fumble of Jamal Adams), but Russell Wilson messed up that ammo by sending a horrific interception on a moving throw. The gap was still reduced before returning to the locker room thanks to a 61-yd kick from Jason Myers (13-17), but Pete Carroll’s players already seemed a tone below.

The second half will be an opportunity for the Rams’ defense to hurt the Seattle offense. Stopping Russell Wilson on a third attempt, it allows the attack to quickly recover the leather and improve this possession with a new TD from Malcolm Brown (13-23). Behind, the Seahawks will never manage to revive, disturbed by an intractable Californian squad like the cover on DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. A last field goal from Jason Myers will not change anything (16-23), Seattle tilts for the third time in four games. A difficult return to earth for a franchise that finds itself tied with its evening opponent and with the Cardinals in the NFC West.

L’upset

Baltimore Ravens [6-3] @ New England Patriots [4-5] : 23-17

The Patriots are back! With a very big defense and a running game driving the attack, New England took Baltimore and Lamar Jackson (24/34, 249 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT) in their own game. Opposite, Cama Newton (13 / 17, 118 yds, 1 TD) just had to manage, taking advantage of a huge game from Damien Harris (22 runs, 121 yds) on the run.

After a first quarter in pouring rain where no points were scored, the Ravens are the first to hit the scoreboard. Lamar Jackson touches Willie Snead after a drive of 94 yds and more than eight minutes (7-0), launching a sequence where the two franchises will meet blow for blow. Cam Newton first concludes a methodical ascent by finding Rex Burkead in the endzone, before Baltimore responded with a field goal from Justin Tucker. Bill Belichick then released a surprise game when the Patriots arrived at the gates of the Redzone, with a pass from receiver Jakoby Meyers to Rex Burkhead who signed a brace (10-13). Lamar Jackson will have the opportunity to come back in front before the break but will be intercepted by JC Jackson just before the break.

As soon as they returned from the locker room, New England drove the point home and increased their lead over a race by Cam Newton which concluded a lightning drive (four games) marked by two long races from Damien Harris (20-10). Baltimore does not respond and the Patriots aggravate the mark with a field goal to take a thirteen point lead (23-10). Willie Snead will sign a double on the next drive (23-17), but the New England defense will then put the lock until the end of the meeting. Baltimore therefore bowed and took a serious delay on the Steelers in the AFC North and saw the pack of contenders for the playoffs come back on them.

The match to review

Buffalo Bills [7-3] @ Arizona Cardinals [6-3] : 30-32

The game of the week, the action of the month and maybe even the game of the year. At the end of an end to end game where the two franchises surrendered blow for blow, Arizona snatched the victory following a completely insane action which saw Deandre Hopkins (7 rec, 127 yds, 1 TD) catch a desperate pass from Kyler Murray (22/32, 245 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT + 11 runs, 61 yds, 2 TD).

The first act is hooked, but it is the Bills who stand out. After conceding a field goal in the opening, Buffalo replied with a trick play which sees Josh Allen (32/49, 284 yds, 2 TD, 2 INT) receiving an assist from receiver Isaiah McKenzie for TD (7-3). The two franchises then exchange field goals, and in this game the Bills slightly increase their lead just before the break (16-9). Sean McDermott’s players are applied defensively and perfectly contain Deandre Hopkins, the keystone of the Cardinals’ offense.

Back from the locker room, Buffalo continued his march forward and caused a fumble from Kenyan Drake on Arizona’s first offensive game in the second half. Josh Allen then only needs four actions to find Cole Beasley and give his family a little more air (23-9). The Cardinals are on the inside and don’t really seem able to react. At least that’s what we think before Kyler Murray sounds the revolt in the camp of the locals. The passing game sets in, and Murray goes to conclude himself with his legs (23-16). The defense then managed to quickly stop the Bills, who missed their punt and offered an easy field goal position to their opponents (23-19). The defensive squad takes cover on the next drive intercepting Josh Allen, and in just a minute Arizona finds its way to endzone with a drive built only on the ground (23-26). In a quarter, the Cardinals reversed the score.

No team can gain the upper hand for more than ten minutes, offering at the end of the match an unbreathable atmosphere. Buffalo recovers the cook with 3min35 on the clock, and the Bills will go up the field thanks to a Josh Allen methodically distributing the ball. The clock is perfectly used, and Allen finally connects with Stefon Diggs at thirty seconds from time to take an advantage that the Bills thought decisive (30-26). Thought yes, because the improbable will come true. After approaching halfway, Kyler Murray sends an almost desperate attempt towards the endzone at the end of a roll unbelievable. Deandre Hopkins is targeted but is perfectly covered by two defensemen of the Bills. Still, the former Houston star will achieve the catch of the year between his two vis-à-vis and offer the victory to the Cardinals to the buzzer. Simply grandiose.

The performance of the week

Tampa Bay Buccaneers [7-3] @ Carolina Panthers [3-7] : 46-23

After the correction received against the Saints last week, Tampa Bay had to react. And the least we can say is that the teammates of Tom Brady (28/39, 341b yds, 3 TD) have not done in the lace. The attack literally rolled over the Panthers (544 yds, 5 TD) like a conquering and efficient Ronald Jones on the ground (23 runs, 192 yds, 1 TD). Despite the absence of Christian McCaffrey, the defense had a harder time containing Carolina, but Matt Rhule’s men could not keep up with the offensive pace imposed by Florida. The Buccaneers have been hit but are absolutely not sunk.

The other results

This week the Cowboys [2-7], the Chiefs [8-1], the Falcons [3-6] and the Jets [0-9] were at rest.

Redzone, 1time Part

Washington Football Team [2-7] @ Detroit Lions [4-5] : 27-30
Jacksonville Jaguars [1-8] @ Green Bay Packers [7-2] : 20-24
Philadelphia Eagles [3-5-1] @ New York Giants [3-7] : 17-27
Houston Texans [2-7] @ Cleveland Browns [6-3] : 7-10

For his return as a starter, Alex Smith did everything possible to help a Football Team unable to advance on the ground, but could not prevent Detroit from winning at the last second on a 59 yd field goal. by Matt Prater. Green Bay, for its part, was very scared against catchy Jaguars. The franchise of Wisconsin has struggled to exist in attack, especially on the ground, but finally comes out thanks to a TD from Davante Adams late in the game. The Giants won against the Eagles with a third victory in a row and revived in the race for the NFC East, while the Browns defeated the Texans in a game that lacked spectacle and dramaturgy.

Redzone, 2e Part

Los Angeles Chargers [2-7] @ Miami Dolphins [6-3] : 21-29
San Francisco 49ers [4-6] @ New Orleans Saints [7-2] : 13-27
Denver Broncos [3-6] @ Las Vegas Raiders [6-3] : 12-37
Cincinnati Bengals [2-6-1] @ Pittsburgh Steelers [9-0] : 10-36

Advantage Tua Tagovailoa in his first career duel against Justin Herbert. Thanks to solid defense and opportunistic special teams, the first-year pitcher only had to manage to validate the success of his franchise. Also bonus to the defense of the New Orleans side in the victory of the Saints against the 49ers. Sean Payton’s players were able to lock in and rely on Alvin Kamara on the other side of the field to win. Note the injury exit of Drew Brees at half-time, replaced by Jameis Winston. Finally, the Raiders made short work of the Broncos, taking advantage of Denver’s many mistakes, while the Steelers didn’t have to work hard to beat Cincinnati and remain undefeated.

Rendezvous tonight at 2:15 am for a Monday Night Football between Vikings and Bears which will conclude this tenth week of competition.
