1. FC Nürnberg has ended its negative series in the 2nd Bundesliga and inflicted its first defeat on the surprise team VfL Osnabrück. At the end of the eighth matchday, the Franks deservedly won 4-1 (2-0) and celebrated their first success since September 27th. In the table, Nuremberg jumped to tenth place with ten points. Goal scorer Marcel Schäffler (25th) and Fabian Nürnberger (29th) provided with a double strike for the early lead of the guests, who subsequently withdrew a little and waited for counterattacks. Osnabrück made an effort, but did not put the attentive Nuremberg in any distress. Instead, Felix Lohkemper (43.) and Schäffler (71.) increased. Nürnberg had started with wild determination and could have taken the lead through Pascal Köpke (4th) right from the start. Unlike in the past few weeks, when the team gave several guided tours, the team of coach Robert Klauss remained focused and confident. The third goal shortly before the break also played into the cards for the guests – from then on they had everything under control.
