Petronas predicted to make Rossi great again in MotoGP

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Motor racing legend, Alex Hofmann predicts Valentino Rossi will be great back at MotoGP 2021 with Petronas Yamaha.

Valentino Rossi is having the worst season of his career in MotoGP after being ranked 15th in the final standings with a collection of 66 points in 2020.

Next season, Rossi will join Petronas, a Yamaha satellite team on a one-year contract. However, the 41-year-old racer will still get an official M1 motorbike from Yamaha. This season is also the last season for The Doctor with Yamaha after a long partnership since 2004, cut in the 2011 and 2012 seasons with Ducati.

“I can even imagine, the atmosphere in the Petronas team next year can make Rossi good,” said Hofmann Motosan.

“Maybe he will find the passion there to fight for the podium again,” added Hofmann.

In recent seasons Valentino Rossi has struggled to compete against younger MotoGP riders.

Some say Rossi is too old to compete in MotoGP. However, there are no signs that Rossi will retire.

According to Hofmann, Rossi wouldn’t care even if fans advised him to retire. As long as Rossi is enjoying it, he will continue to race in MotoGP.

“We have talked for years about the importance of speed for a world champion, speed to be the fastest on the track,” said Hofmann.

“Valentino has been without speed for almost 10 years. But if everything goes well, and he has a good Sunday, he will race for the podium and win,” added Hofmann.
