Olot returned to play a league match at the Municipal eight months later

The coronavirus pandemic and all that it entails already has these things. Suddenly, you stop living a normal life. Park what you find routine, usual. You change habits, you resign yourself to getting used to a new reality. In March the world pressed the pause button. Also football. He still regrets theOlot, packed as it was, with cruising speed set, determined to make it fat. Until four days ago he did not play an official match again. It was in Tarragona, with defeat to start a season that has already started badly because of, if not the virus. To all this, this Sunday the team coached by Raúl Garrido will return to the Municipal to play a League match. What was once a constant now even seems new. Olot will breathe football again and will do so eight months after the last time. He Badalona, the rival. Like the last time.

On March 8, today is 245 days ago. A 2-0, with goals from Álvaro Salinas before the break and Moha Chabboura in the final minutes. Victory to extend the consecutive days to nine without losing. A new joy in the Municipal, where the team does not know the defeat in all of 2020. The last, last December 8 in a 0-1 with Orihuela. Solano was the executioner with a goal in the 40th minute. Since then, half a dozen home games with a record that makes a lot of noise: four victories (1-0 at Barça B, 1-0 at Castellón, 4-0 at La Nucía and 2-0 at Badalona) and a pair of ties (1-1 against Cornellà and the same result with Sabadell). That is, up to 10 goals for and only two against.

No audience

Curiosities of life. The break began with Badalona as a rival and will close with the same opponent. It will be the scapulars who will visit the Municipal and the goal of Olot will be to add the first victory of the course and thus extend the good inertia as a local of this 2020. The big difference with respect to the other parties, those of the previous months, is which will not have the support of its audience in the stands. The ban by the Generalitat, which has implemented this measure until next week, at least, determines this. And that the club has been working side by side with the City Council to implement a series of security measures that would allow the fans to attend the Municipal. More than one access to the facility had been enabled and the bleachers had well-marked areas. The boxes and grandstand area had also been expanded so that the required safety distance could be met. Everything was ready for the debut with Barça B two weeks ago, a duel that was suspended due to the positives detected in the Olot squad.

Timetable in Cornellà

The match for the first day of the league championship could not be played for the same reason. What was to be celebrated in the Cornellà field. The final day and time were announced yesterday. Olot will play at the Nou Municipal on Wednesday next week, November 11, and will do so from 12 noon. It will be behind closed doors and therefore without an audience.
