The German national team experienced one of the blackest days in DFB history with a 6-0 debacle in Spain on Tuesday evening. After the game, a visibly ailing DFB director Oliver Bierhoff answered questions from ARD presenter Matthias Opdenhövel and expert Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Again and again he gets 52-year-olds in need of explanation. But it is the end of the conversation, which afterwards causes head shakes and laughter in the social networks. To say goodbye, Bierhoff says to Schweinsteiger: “Greetings, Basti. Come around!”

The quick-witted addition of moderator Opdenhövel: “And bring your shoes with you”. The DFB-Elf could certainly have used a Bastian Schweinsteiger against Spain. The users can also find it on Twitter. Mostly, however, Bierhoff gets into the line of fire for his unsafe appearance.

“Bierhoff is the most ridiculous of them all”, writes one user, “Bierhoff is even worse than Löw”, says another. Quite a few are now calling for the director to resign.
