A few days ago, Andrew John’s great hope for the halfback of the next decade was told that Andrew Johns should have been punished for Wednesday night’s game.
“I didn’t know, but thank you for telling me,” replied Nathan Cleary.
And with the words of John’s in the ears, Cleary made one of the most dominant halfback appearances in the modern Origin era when the Blues sent the series to a decider in Brisbane and won a vicious second game at ANZ Stadium.
