NFL orders intensive security protocols to combat Coronavirus

The 2020 season of the National Football League (NFL) has entered its second half, and despite the health and safety measures adopted to be able to carry out the contest in full coronavirus pandemic, there have been sources of contagion and suspension of matches.

For the same reason, and to prevent this type of situation from recurring, the organization has sent a memorandum to the 32 teams warning that, as of this Saturday, November 21, intensive protocols against COVID-19 will be implemented, after the last cases in Washington FT Y Las Vegas Raiders.

Among the measures to be imposed from now on, the fact that franchises are required to hold their meetings remotely or in open spaces, to which will be added the mandatory use of protective masks during practice and off the field at NFL games.

The NFL is fighting the Coronavirus

In the memo sent to the teams, the Commissioner Roger Goodell He pointed out that the measures are being adopted since, according to his reports, coronavirus infections will worsen during the end of autumn and the beginning of winter, so they hope to finish the contest in the best way.

“As we move forward in the campaign, additional measures will be absolutely necessary to address the conditions to come.”, warned the highest authority of the NFL.

The reasons why these rules have been adopted is, firstly, because 28 teams have required intensive protocols at least once in the season, and then, because the NFL has no intention of using a virtual week 18, in case to suspend matches due to Coronavirus.
