NFL: Drew Brees out for two weeks with rib injury

It was one of the most painful actions of week 10 in the National Football League (NFL), when the quarterback of New Orleans Saints, Drew Brees, suffered a contusion in the ribs that forced him to leave the game before San Francisco 49ers.

During the last days a mystery remained regarding the recovery time that the quarterback, due to five broken ribs and perforation in the right lung that he suffered; in fact his coach, Sean Payton, was blunt in pointing out that “no update”.

However, the insider Ian Rapoport, from NFL Network, gave an update on Brees’ health status and along with noting that he consulted with several doctors to have a clear diagnosis, the conclusion is that will be out of activity for a minimum period of two weeks.

In this way, the 41-year-old experienced player will miss at least the next two commitments of the Louisiana franchise, this Sunday, November 22 against Atlanta Falcons and on Sunday 29 visiting Denver Broncos, with the possibility of returning on December 6.

It is assumed that in these cases, when Brees is not on the court, the Saints occupy instead Jameis Winston, who actually replaced him last Sunday against the 49ers; but Coach Payton declined to confirm his presence this weekend.

“I think what we will do is highlight the strengths of any player, not just the quarterback.”, the strategist exposed.
