Maradona is better and could leave her clinic soon

Reassuring news. The state of health of football legend Diego Maradona, still hospitalized after his operation for a subdural hematoma, is progressing favorably, his personal doctor said Monday evening, for whom the Argentinian star, aged 60, should be able to go out “Tuesday or Wednesday”.

“Diego is very keen to go out and we are in the process of evaluating whether he could actually do it on Tuesday or more probably on Wednesday, it will depend on his medical parameters, but for the moment his evolution is very good”, estimated the Dr Leopoldo Luque, in front of the Olivos hospital, in the north of the Argentine capital.

The 1986 world champion was hospitalized a week ago in La Plata, 60 km south of Buenos Aires, due to anemia and dehydration. Examinations had revealed the presence of a subdural hematoma, a pocket of blood formed under the skull. He was then transferred to the private clinic Olivos, in the municipality of the same name.

Affected by abstinence syndrome

Since then, his state of health has progressed well, even if he is affected by an abstinence syndrome, for which he received intensive care and sedatives, a treatment that he began to stop on Monday. The 1986 world champion has repeatedly claimed that he has not used cocaine for years, but according to relatives and the press, he is now addicted to alcohol.

Dr Luque did not wish to specify in which place Maradona would recover after leaving the hospital. “We’ll talk about this when the time is right, along with his family. One thing is certain: we are all determined that he will get better, ”added the doctor of the former N.10.

Diego Maradona’s life has been punctuated by many health problems, some of which are linked to excesses of all kinds which have sometimes made him flirt with death.
