David De Gea
Received the finest touches to carry Karlan Grant’s fake effort. Seconds before United won a penalty, he made one of his classic saves from Conor Townsend. 8th
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Against the attack too often, despite West Brom’s reluctance to act. Just not doing enough for the future. 5
Victor Lindelof
Didn’t seem to be hampered by his back problem and helped United score a goal. 6th
Harry Maguire
The only one who acted like a proper United player from start to finish and started runaway Anthony Martial should have finished. 6th
Alex Such
It took some time to adjust to the demands and there were some loose moments and his speculative shooting was crooked. 6th
Nemanja Matic
He suffered the disgrace of a nutmeg, but did little wrong. The problem was that United didn’t need two steel midfielders against 18th place. 5
Fred
Neat enough with the ball trying to get United to attack but rarely played a memorable pass. 6th
Juan Mata |
Too passive too often in the first half but his cross was handled and earned United a penalty. Made space for Cavani every hour on the hour. 5
Bruno Fernandes
Set up Martial for an easy chance but got so frustrated that he retreated into a deeper role. Fortunately, he was unable to take the penalty and luckily he was able to recapture his saved free kick. 6th
Marcus Rashford
Rusty returned from injury and missed a great opportunity for everyone but killing the game in the second half. 4th
Anthony Martial
Saved an early header before missing a chance with Goldrand shortly thereafter. Sometimes went through the movements. 5

West Brom was overrated by Matic’s start with Fred and should have made a change at halftime. Cavani for Mata was an adventurous move. 6th
