The Russian Daniil Medvedev reached the semifinals early at the ATP final in London. The 24-year-old won surprisingly clearly against the Serbian world number one Novak Djokovic 6: 3, 6: 3 and celebrated his second victory. At the start, Medvedev had also won against Alexander Zverev in two sets. For Djokovic it was the first defeat. The second semi-final participant from the group “Tokyo 1970” will now be determined on Friday between Zverev and Djokovic.

Zverev had previously won his first victory in London and thus preserved his chance of making it to the semifinals. The German, who seemed to forget his private problems during the game, won against the Argentinian Diego Schwartzman 6: 3, 4: 6, 6: 3 and thus rehabilitated himself for the poor performance in the opening defeat against the Russian Daniil Medvedev. After 2:11 hours, Zverev used his first match ball.

«It was much better than on Monday. Diego is very difficult to play. I am happy that I won and that I got the chance to reach the semi-finals, ”said Zverev. And: “Now I’m looking forward to the game on Friday. Playing here against Novak is the hardest thing there is. I will have to improve significantly, I am aware of that. “
