Badminton & Croquet Club Lecco Shines at Verona Grand Prix and Austrian Senior Open


Over the weekend the Badminton & Croquet Club Lecco will be competing in the Verona GP and the Austrian Senior Open in Sankt Polten

VERONA / SANKT POLTEN – Two tournaments again this weekend for the athletes of Badminton & Croquet Club Lecco – Lario Mi Auto with the Verona Grand Prix with 268 athletes e Austrian Senior Open 2024 a Sankt Polten with 160 participants from all over Europe.


In Verona, the 5 Blucelesti athletes won a wealth of medals with 4 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. Great performance for theUnder 13 Mattia Cattaneo who achieves gold in the three specialties playedin the SM final won against Gozzi (SSV Bozen) 21-18 21-15, in the DM paired with Luca Li Bohong (Junior BC MI) final against Pichler/Renner (ASV Mals) 21-11 21-12 and XD with Lea Gitterle (ASV Mals) over Gozzi (SSV Bozen)/Gramm (Uberetsch) 21-14 21-15.

Excellent tournament also for his little brother Alex Cattaneo U9 who wins all the singles matches played and climbs to the top step of the podium.

Two medals for Andrea Saverio, silver in the MS where he lost the final in three very tight sets 14-21 21-18 11-21 against Locatelli (Brescia Sport Più) and bronze in XD 19 paired with YI Yuan Chen (Junior BC MI) semifinal lost 13-21 12-21 against De Leon (BC MI)/Tognetti M. While the Austrian Senior Open 2024 in Sankt Polten the B&CC Lecco has fielded four athletes Denis Passador, Roberta Brenzone, Edvidio Milani and Piera Tocchetti.

In the XD 60 Passador paired with Brenzone achieved an unexpected third place against the Austrian pair Rebhandl/Rebhandl 22-20 21-19.
