The Michigan team made the decisions following their crushing 41-25 loss to the Houston Texans in the American Thanksgiving game on Thursday afternoon.

It was the third time this season that they have lost two consecutive games. Prior to facing the Texans, they were also shut out for the first time in 11 years in the previous game against the Carolina Panthers.

Patricia spent her third season at the helm of the Lions (4-7), who are last in the North section of the National Association.

He ended his stint with the Lions with a dismal 13-29-1 record, while Quinn finished his 12 games under .500 in five seasons.

Quinn, who was on the staff of the New England Patriots for 16 years, got his first opportunity to lead an NFL team in January 2016.

He gave head coach Jim Caldwell his vote of confidence, and the Lions advanced to the playoffs. Caldwell was fired the following season, however, after posting an identical 9-7 record that was not enough to return to the playoffs.

After sacking Caldwell, Quinn said he wanted to hire a head coach who can take the Lions to the next level.

Patricia did, but it wasn’t enough to allow him and Quinn to keep their jobs.

The Lions were 6-10 under Patricia in 2018, and won just three games last season. It was hardly better so far this season.
