There was more bad news for the injured Liverpool when James Milner was sent off in the second half of the 1-1 draw with Brighton.
The 34-year-old was pushed off the field with a thigh complaint in the 74th minute and was able to stand on the sidelines for a long break.
He joins a long injury list and Jürgen Klopp’s patience is waning.

Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Thiago Alcantara and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (all knees), Trent Alexander-Arnold (calf), Naby Keita (thighs) and Xherdan Shaqiri (muscles) are currently excluded.
Meanwhile, Klopp also confirmed that Thiago and Oxlade-Chamberlain are unlikely to return to games against Ajax and Wolves this week.
Milner’s injury provoked Klopp’s ranting during his post-game interview when he reiterated his recent complaints about Liverpool in the game early Saturday after playing in the Champions League just three days earlier.
When asked if Milner had a thigh problem, Klopp targeted TV programmer and Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder, who criticized his counterpart for wanting to allow five substitutions instead of the current three.

“Yes, congratulations. You work for her yeah? Hamstring, surprise and Brighton all had injuries but ask Chris Wilder how we can avoid that, ”said Klopp.
“I don’t know how often to say it, you chose the 1230, not you personally, but you did it, we at 1230, between now and December and New Years, another Wednesday.
“I haven’t tried the transmitter, I’m just saying how it is. After Wednesday, Saturday, 12.30 p.m. is really dangerous for the players.
“When we had a conversation between managers a week ago, it was 55 if not 60 (percent) for five subs. Nothing has happened since then.
“Chris Wilder or whoever keeps saying I’m selfish. I think all that shows is that he’s selfish.
“I was in a similar situation when I was working in Mainz and it was just about staying in the league but they (Sheffield United) have three subs and one point if I’m right.”
