Ireland

Fly-Half Ross Byrne will make his first start in Ireland since August 2019, while Jamison Gibson-Park will keep the scrum-half role ahead of Conor Murray.

Head coach Andy Farrell has made four changes to his starting XV for the Autumn Nations Cup game in London.

Byrne, whose only previous start was in a 57:15 drubbing at Twickenham prior to last year’s World Cup, was selected to replace injured captain Johnny Sexton and win his ninth international match ahead of international rookie Billy Burns.

Long-time center-back Murray has to settle for a seat on the bench again after New Zealand-born Gibson-Park was impressed in Friday’s 32-9 win over Wales.

Center Bundee Aki replaces the injured Robbie Henshaw in midfield with flanker CJ Stander and winger Keith Earls, the other men called back by Farrell.

Lock James Ryan was confirmed as substitute captain after veteran Sexton was expelled from the Welsh due to a thigh problem.

Meanwhile, Bath-born Burns, who represented England under the age of 20, was named among substitutes for the country of his birth after making his last debut from the bench.
