David Alaba admits that Bayern Munich’s future is uncertain after Liverpool’s transfer rumors

David Alaba has spoken out at Bayern Munich that rumors about his contract negotiations should spread.

The defender no longer has a contract at the end of the season and has yet to sign a new contract with the European champions.

This has led to speculation that Liverpool may have an interest in the 28-year-old as potential cover for an injury-tied line of defense in January.

Bayern Munich is said to have withdrawn its latest offer to Alaba, which is upset about the high numbers of its name in the press.

He said to Bild: “I have repeatedly emphasized that I would have very much wished that internal matters would also remain internal.

“I presented myself to the public like in the last few months – that’s how I can understand the fans’ perspective.

“I can assure you that the amounts that are flowing into the room are not true. I was disappointed and also hurt that it was not denied by the authorities, that I never asked about the numbers that are now in the media to be published. “”

Alaba admitted his future in Munich is uncertain after President Herbert Hainer claimed the club withdrew its offer for a new deal but the Austrian is still happy to play for the club.

He said, “I heard it on the news like everyone else.

“I can’t say how things will go from this point on.

“I’m happy to play for Bayern and to be part of the team. But I just can’t say what the future will look like after last night, as nobody officially spoke to me.”

The defender also seemed to confirm that he had been offered to Manchester City that summer as a potential swap deal for Leroy Sane – who was joining Bundesliga champions.

Alaba explained its contract situation, saying it was a slap in the face to be offered as an exchange.

He said, “That respect and appreciation for what I was looking for when the contract negotiations began was not going in the right direction.

“That was a year ago. In times when Corona was still very far away.

“It went on and on. After the second or third conversation I got a call and was asked if I could consider an exchange. Where I then say: That’s a slap in the face somewhere.”
