Dallas Mavericks trade in James Johnson from OKC Thunder

The Dallas Mavericks stepped up with James Johnson on day one of the Free Agency. The forward comes by trade from OKC Thunder.

This is reported by Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN. Johnson is said to switch to the Texans for the services of Delon Wright and Justin Jackson. Wright is in turn sent directly to the Detroit Pistons, which in turn trade Trevor Ariza to OKC. Draft compensation for OKC is also involved in the trade.

The 33-year-old Johnson is entering his final year of contract and still earns around $ 15.8 million. OKC had only received it on draft evening in a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves, for which Johnson had an average of 12 points in 14 games last season. He had previously played for the Miami Heat.

Ariza, in turn, was sent to Houston by the Portland Trail Blazers last week, who then traded him to Detroit on draft evening. Now the 35-year-old has landed in OKC, where he will probably not stay for long. Last season the experienced forward had an average of 8 points.

The Mavericks also agreed on a new three-year contract with Guard Trey Burke. The 28-year-old was held for three years and around $ 10 million.
