Brazilian women’s football star Marta has tested positive for the coronavirus. As a result, she will miss the next two scheduled friendly matches against Ecuador, the Brazilian federation announced on Saturday.
Marta, 34, is considered one of the best female soccer players of all time. Six times, a record, the striker has been voted the best world player of the year by FIFA (2006-2010, 2018).
Marta, who plays for the Orlando Pride club in the United States, will therefore be absent from Ecuador on November 27 and December 1 in Sao Paulo due to a positive test at Covid-19.
