ATP – Finals> Tsitsipas on the bubble: “It’s like a different world and we are very lonely”

Definitely eliminated from the 2020 edition of the Masters after his defeat to Rafael Nadal, the defending champion returned during his last press conference of the season on living conditions in the London bubble. As a reminder, the players’ hotel is directly connected with the O2 Arena via a tunnel and they hardly ever step outside …

“It gets tiring after a while. You have to think that you are stuck in a hotel room waiting for your game all day, without having the opportunity to go anywhere. Of course, they try to keep you entertained with certain things that they put in the lobby or in the player lounge. But people need space. It’s hard to be in your hotel, with room service all day (…) This is all very difficult to handle, to be honest. I’m very glad I didn’t crash, and I’m sure if you ask other players they’ll respond the same. Technology is obviously helping us connect more easily than ever. I’m grateful that I was able to be with the people I love every day through FaceTime. However, it’s not the same, and I think it’s going to be the same for a while. It’s a different world, I would say. I will describe it as a different world and we are very lonely ”, said the member of the Mouratoglou Academy who will be able to join his relatives and stay with them for more than a month.
