Aston Villa coach: Trezeguet could have scored a hat-trick against Southampton

Aston Villa coach Dean Smith believes that Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet was able to score a hat-trick in today’s match against Southampton in the English Premier League.

The two teams faced in the seventh round of the Premier League, where Southampton won by four goals to three.

Trezeguet participated as a substitute in that match, in the 29th minute after his colleague Bertrand Traore was injured.

Dean said Smith, in remarks published by the official website of the club, “Trezeguet was able to score a hat-trick himself in view of their chances in the defense area in the second half.”

He added: “If our goals came just before the timing, I was confident that we will achieve something in that game, we almost have to go back in the result, but it was not pleased with that way.”

“The way we ended the game was really good and we need to take advantage of that next week against Arsenal.”

“Our rhythm in the second half was better compared to the first. Southampton should be commended for their ability to prevent us from playing our way.”
