Why not abolish national anthems and symbols in sport?

If there weren’t any national symbols at major events – there wouldn’t be a lot of problems either. If, however, flags and anthems were abolished, no one would put their tax money into the sports system.

EA question about the anniversary: When will the hymns finally be abolished in sport? And when are the flags rolled up? We have known for a long time that national pathos does not benefit top international sport. If there weren’t any national symbols at major events – there wouldn’t be a lot of problems either.

GDR state doping as a weapon in the Cold War? Would never have happened. Russian state doping? Neither. China’s former sports robots? Wouldn’t have made sense. American anabolic steroids, German excesses of tobogganing, absurd naturalizations of sports cannons in rich wimp countries? The list of undesirable developments that we would have been spared is long. Discrimination? Boycotts? Losing their foundation.

Just like the annoying political demonstrations at award ceremonies. Then it sounds like a bluster: Look, we are the best country on earth because we produced a winner in running or jumping! But of course: If flags and anthems were abolished, no one would put their tax money into the sports system. So nobody will listen to us this time either.
