Valverde, Mas and Soler will lead Movistar in the Vuelta

Alejandro Valverde, Enric Mas and Marc Soler will lead Movistar in the Vuelta a España 2020 that will begin next Tuesday in Irún. Carlos Verona, Imanol Erviti, José Joaquín Rojas, Jorge Arcas and Portuguese Nelson Oliveira will complete the training, which will be practically the same as the team classification in the last Tour de France.

Valverde, champion of the Vuelta in 2009 and second in 2019, has been on the podium seven times in the Spanish round; Mas was second in the 2018 Vuelta and fifth in the last Tour, where the Italian Dario Cataldo also participated, now replaced by Jorge Arcas; and Soler ninth in the Vuelta last year.

The last winner of the Vuelta, the Slovenian Primoz Roglic, will wear the number 1 number. Roglic, yellow jersey of the Tour de France until the day before the arrival and second in the final general, will lead a powerful Jumbo team that will also line up the Dutch Tom Dumoulin, winner of the 2017 Giro, and American climber Sepp Kuss.

The organizers published this Thursday the list of participants, which also includes the British Chris Froome, the four-time winner of the Tour de France, who will run his last race with Ineos. Froome will have as a partner the Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz.

Among the sprinters, the Irishman Sam Bennett (Deceuninck), the green jersey of the last Tour de France, the German Pascal Ackermann (Bora) and the Belgian Jasper Philipsen (UAE Emirates) stand out.
