Thibaut Courtois sends a cheeky message to Gareth Bale as he prepares for his second debut with Spurs

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois threw Tottenham a blow when he gave his opinion on Gareth Bale’s move to Jose Mourinho.

The current No. 1 Real Madrid spent seven years at Stamford Bridge, claiming two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup, before moving to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2018, where he became team-mates at Bale.

Speaking to Spanish outlet El Larguero about the Welshman’s move, Courtois wished Bale the best of luck at Spurs but couldn’t resist sending a cheeky message to his old London rivals.

“What Bale has discussed with the manager is personal,” he said of Bale’s difficult relationship with Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.

“I don’t know what he was thinking, but then it’s decisions that everyone makes.

‘I’ve had a good relationship with Gareth and I wish him the best of luck this year, even if he’s not playing for the good London team.

“He’s a great player.”

Gareth Bale could play in the Premier League for the first time in seven years this week

After seven long years outside the Premier League, Gareth Bale made his second Tottenham debut against West Ham on Sunday.

Bale looked good in training all week when Spurs posted some of his clinical results on Twitter.

At his peak in Tottenham, Bale scored 56 goals and provided 58 assists in 203 games between 2007 and 2013.

The Welsh striker will be looking to regain such form after battling for his feet at Real Madrid.
