In response to the ban on sporting events, the League Committee met in extraordinary session to address two key points. Possible adjustments to the schedule due to the interruption of the two highest football competitions and the solution of the issue of maintaining the full-fledged training process of professional football clubs.

“We were forced to react to the crisis measures and, with regard to the regularity of the competitions, they decided to interrupt the competitions in order to maintain the sequence of individual league rounds. This has an impact on the schedule, the form of which will most likely be changed by shortening the winter break for professional clubs, “advises Dušan Svoboda, Chairman of the LFA League Committee.

Management points out that the interruption of top competitions means increasing financial losses for professional football and also has an impact on sports performance. Especially in connection with the participation of three Czech teams (Sparta, Slavia and Liberec) in the basic groups of the European League. It also affects the results of national teams representing the Czech Republic.

That is one of the reasons why a request was sent under the LFA banner to Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and Minister of Health Roman Prymula to negotiate and set conditions that will enable full-fledged sports training of professional clubs.

Also, professionals can only train for six

Even professional athletes can train a maximum of six from Wednesday, the National Sports Agency stated almost simultaneously with the declaration of football players. In preparation, they must be divided into groups.

Extraliga on ice. The time has come for waiting and uncertainty

“It is necessary to realize that sports activities are their only gainful activity for professional players and long-term or repeated failures of full-fledged training and wrestling activities must naturally have a negative impact on the performance and further professional sports careers of these people,” Svoboda points out.

The LFA wants to know what conditions it must meet in order for the teams to return immediately to full-fledged sports training. Then, according to her, it will only be up to individual clubs whether they are able to meet the conditions.

Regional football? He can train outside, but at most in groups

“Under current conditions, it is not possible for Czech cup representatives to carry out full-fledged sports training and are thus disadvantaged compared to their sports opponents in the first matches, which take place on October 22. I am absolutely sure that we are able to take such measures that full-fledged training preparation. professional clubs does not pose any risk in terms of the spread of coronavirus, “emphasizes Svoboda.

The association wants to continue negotiations with the Ministry of Health on the further development of the situation.
