Sergio Garcia (-14) shares the leadership of Sanderson Farms Championship with 18 holes remaining and he is comfortable. He is happy and very satisfied with how each and every part of his game is working, from the driver to the putter to the attitude.

He knows that he is on the right track and hopes to continue on this path on Sunday to finish the job, although for him right now the really important thing is to keep hitting good shots, throwing good putts and having a good attitude. Afterwards, whatever has to come, welcome.

What Sergio is looking for when he kicks with his eyes closed

Sergio spoke after the third round of his game, he again referred to his way of kicking with his eyes closed and he was very proud of the commitment he has had in each shot. Here are their full statements.

The key to how well he’s playing this week … «I feel comfortable, I like the field and I am trusting and having faith in my game, I think that is the key this week. Sundays are always more difficult, but we are going to face it with the best disposition. Even if we stumble a bit at first, keep the faith that things are being done right. It’s what I’m going to try to do.

All parts of the game count … «In this course you have to play very well from tee to green and even so, like me today, who have played very well, there are some or other greens that fail and recovery is not easy because the greens are very fast. You have to shoot at very small targets because as soon as you move away a bit, as the greens are very fast, the ball goes a lot and it is not easy to make two putts. The short game and the putt also have to be fine. This week I am getting all parts of the game to go well, but there is still tomorrow and I have to keep doing the same.

Sergio had not left the hotel so satisfied for a long time

On his kicking routine closing his eyes … «I don’t understand why there is so much talk that I’m kicking with my eyes closed … I think there is no golf rule that prevents it. In the end, all I’m looking for is a way to play better, to be more consistent, to find something that works for me. I’ve been doing it for a long time in practice and in tournaments, I feel that it helps me and that’s why I do it.

Very satisfied with the putt in the third round … “Obviously I could have made a few more putts, but from 1 to 10 it would give me a 9 or a 9.5. I don’t get a 10 because I could have scored two or three more and it would have been even better. Both in my routine and in my way of being on the ball I feel very positive things. I have thrown very good putts, even the ones that have not entered, as in 17 and 18, I thought they were inside ».

Sergio García leaves the top 50 nine years later but leaves us some galactic numbers

The mental and technical challenge of golf … “I try to enjoy every week that I play golf. I love golf and it’s what I do best. At the end of the day, when you play well and do good results, it is easier to enjoy and the wonderful thing about this sport is that at the same time it can frustrate you when you do not play well or cannot get all the results out of your game. But that’s why we love it. If it were simple everyone would do it and it would probably be boring. It’s fun to have days like this to make up for the others.

On attitude … «I am happy with everything. My attitude is being very good. I am very proud of the commitment I have had on every shot and how well I have thrown every putt. You always work on attitude. You can always be better. No doubt. Sometimes it is not easy to do it, but you can always be better and that is what I try.
