Manchester

Recently, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jose Mourinho were involved in a debate in the media. Ahead of the Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur duel, Solskjaer praised Mourinho.

The war of comments started after Solskjaer led United to a narrow 3-2 win over Brighton in the Premier League at the weekend. The MU manager joked by offending Mourinho, who had complained about the size of the goal at Shkendija’s headquarters before Tottenham featured in Europa League qualification.

“We have to be grateful that Jose (Mourinho) is not here to measure the bars, because maybe they are too small!” joked Solskjaer.

Mourinho could not resist retaliating, striking anyway. The Portuguese manager said the size of the goal was less important for Solskjaer, but the size of the penalty box. The comment refers to the number of penalties the Red Devils received last season (21).

“No, because I know the net is fine. I think Ole was very happy yesterday and was so surprised by what happened to his team that he made a joke. But I understand that for him the goal size doesn’t matter. What matters is the dimensions of the 18 box. yard (16.2 meters – the width of the penalty box), “stings Mou.

“He will never accept playing with a box measuring 17 yards (15.5 meters), I think he would prefer a box measuring 22 yards (20 meters). For him, that would be better,” he added.

Solskjaer and Mourinho will face each other when Manchester United host Tottenham at Old Trafford in the Premier League continued on Sunday (4/10/2020). Solskjaer was reluctant to continue the debate with Mourinho.

“We are in a strange time,” the Norwegian manager told a press conference reported by the Express. “Sometimes you should be able to have a little fun. Some harmless comments.”

“Jose is a charismatic coach. I enjoy talking with him. He is a winner. I have enormous respect for him and the results he has given to football,” added Solskjaer of his relationship with Mourinho.
