Roger Federer, Nadal and Djokovic are out of all logic

The dominance of the Big 3 has prevented numerous players from expressing their potential in Grand Slam tournaments. Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have monopolized the circuit for the past 15 years, fueling their hegemony even after 30.

The Swiss experienced a second youth from 2017, while the Spanish and Serbian reduced their distance from Federer’s records confirming themselves at very high levels. Thanks to his thirteenth success at Roland Garros, Nadal has equaled the eternal rival in 20 Majors, crowning a lengthy chase that lasted more than ten years.

In a recent interview with Cyprus Mail, Former world number 8 Marcos Baghdatis explained how the performance of the three monsters is absolutely out of this world. The Cypriot boasts a 2006 Australian Open final as the best result and a semi-final at Wimbledon the same year.

Baghdatis: The Big 3 keep getting better

“People believe that what Federer, Nadal and Djokovic are doing is normal. But I can assure you that it is not like that, otherwise I would have succeeded too ”, joked Marcos Baghdatis.

“What Federer, Nadal and Djokovic have achieved is beyond all logic. The reason they keep playing and winning tournaments is that they never stop learning. They always find ways to improve, even after almost two decades of being at the top, ”he added.

Inspired by his former rivals, Marcos tried to stay positive even after retiring from tennis. The Cypriot, who hung up his racket last year, has started working with WTA star Elina Svitolina.

“Every day I come across something new, I pay attention to details, I study the game and I try to communicate with Elina in the most direct and simple way, without complicating things. To obtain good results it is essential to keep an open mind, both in sport and in daily life. In this way I can improve as a coach and as a person ”.
