NFL – Two touchdowns and one win for Cam Newton in Patriots debut

Cam Newton scored two race touchdowns in his New England Patriots debut to lead them to a 21-11 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Newton, who joined the Pats as a free agent to succeed Tom Brady as quarterback, scored touchdowns on 4- and 11-yard carries.

The former NFL MVP completed 15 of his 19 passing attempts for 155-yard advances. He also led his team with 75 rushing yards.

Newton had suffered loss in his previous eight starts with the Carolina Panthers, which released him in the last offseason.

Running back Sonny Michel scored the Pats’ other touchdown on a one-yard run.

Veteran Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was the victim of three interceptions, completing 20 of his 30 passing attempts for 191 yards.
