Mülheim youngsters grab the last WDM tickets

In the elimination tournaments, the Mülheim badminton talents secured the last tickets for the West German championship.

Numerous names from Mülheim are once again on the list of participants in the West German Championships in Badminton stand. Because in the association’s preliminary decisions, where the last starting places were awarded, the podiums rarely got by without a talent from Mülheim.

Hardest working gold medal collector among the three Mülheim clubs of the TSV Heimaterdewho also provided the most successful participant in the elimination tournaments: Nikola Schmidt (16) won three medals in the U17 class. She won the mixed tournament alongside her club colleague Nick Weinfurtner. There was silver in doubles alongside Sara Jäger.

The two TSV players also faced each other in the individual final, which Sara Jäger finally won. With her bronze medal in mixed with Martin Gauk she also got triple precious metal.

Mülheim duo wins in the U13 class

Levi Vetter secured victory and thus qualification for the WDM in the U13 boys’ doubles. His partner was Nick Lubenau from 1. BV Mülheim. BVM also provided the winner of the U11 individual in the person of Tianlang Leo Gao.

Back to the homeland: The TSV talents won three more gold medals Fiete Nierhoff (U13 with Max Ruberg from Bochum), Tom Franke (U17 with Torben Feick from Cologne) and Martin Gauk (U17 with Philipp Henkel from Unna) in double competitions with external partners.

VfB Grün-Weiß provides the winner twice

VfB Grün-Weiß also looks back with satisfaction on the competitions. He presented two winners. Firstly, Philipp Volovnik in the U17 singles. As the top seeded player, he lived up to his role as favorite. In the final there was a duel from Mülheim against Tom Franke from TSV Heimaterde. Volovnik won with 21: 8, 21:12.

The second green and white victory drove in Dana Arnold and Hannah Kolodzie. The girls’ doubles competition in the U13 class was held in a group mode. The two women from Mülheim won all games in two sets and thus secured the overall victory ahead of Finja Mozdzieng and Emma Socha from SV Lippramsdorf.
