Liverpool Wins, Fabinho Even Injured

Liverpool

Liverpool’s victory over Midtjylland must be paid handsomely. Fabinho has suffered an injury and it is not known how long he will be out.

In the second Group D match which was held at Anfield, Wednesday (10/28/2020) in the early hours of WIB, Liverpool received stiff resistance from Midtjylland throughout the first half.

The host cannot create a single attempt on target. What was more disappointing than the performance in the first half was that Liverpool had to lose Fabinho.

In a defensive situation, Fabinho suddenly limped and immediately lay down. Fabinho then gave the signal to be pulled out because he felt pain in his right thigh.

Young defender Rhys Williams played as a substitute. Even without Fabinho, Liverpool finally won 2-0 through Diogo Jota’s goals in the 55th minute and Mohamed Salah’s penalty at the end of the match.

Fabinho’s injury is certainly detrimental to Liverpool considering he has been plotted as an impromptu center-back, following Virgil van Dijk’s long absence. Thus, Liverpool must pray a lot so that Fabinho’s injury is not severe.

If Fabinho has to be out for a long time, then Liverpool will only have Joe Gomez as a fit senior center-back. Meanwhile, it is difficult for Joel Matip to be expected to be consistent without injury.

“Of course this is the last thing we have to find out why. I don’t know, because he felt there was something wrong with his hamstring, that’s not good. He doesn’t really feel sick and can continue playing, but he can’t sprint so it’s useless. “Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp was quoted as saying BBC Sport.

“We’ll see, we will check and see. But this is clearly not good,” he continued.

Liverpool are now topping Group D with six points, two ahead of Atalanta in second place, who drew 2-2 against Ajax Amsterdam.
