Manchester United scored two of two wins when they beat RB Leipzig at Old Trafford with a hat trick from Marcus Rashford and goals from Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial.
United started the game after a 0-0 draw with Chelsea on Saturday, again without conceding a goal and never being disturbed by Julian Nagelsmann’s side.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made five changes to the team that faced Chelsea. Nemanja Matic, Greenwood, Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek and Martial all came into play.
Greenwood opened the goal in the first half but it was the man who replaced him that sealed the win for United. Rashford was presented in irresistible form in the 63rd minute when he hit twice within 15 minutes of his move from range. Anthony Martial scored from the penalty spot after falling into the box before Rashford packed his highs in added time.

Solskjaer rates Van De Beek’s performance
This is what Solskjaer had to say about Van De Beek and Pogba’s performance:
You tell me. Donny is a fantastic player, a fantastic boy, you can see the work on and off the ball. You see the defensive form, he covers the ground, so smart with his movement, so happy with both of them.

Solskajer praises the team performance
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer immediately turned to team performance when asked about Marcus Rashford’s exploits by Marcus Sport:
It was well received, effect, that’s what we want from the submarines. That is only possible if others have laid the foundation. What kind of shift they are doing. They make you work, Leipzig. High press, counter press, the intensity, we had to dig deep and work hard for each other. Rooms open up when you win. Today was a day we had to take some rest, this season is relentless, we could use the roster.
This group comes together. We added some high profile players, more quality and spirit, you have better chance of performance.
On Mason Greenwood:
Usually he does that with his first shot [scores], so efficient in front of the gate, great finisher. Very happy with the timing of the run, great pass from Paul. I wasn’t sure if he was absent, there were a few short calls from the referee and we were lucky today.

Why Rashford Martial took the penalty
Marcus Rashford declined the opportunity to seal his hat-trick from the penalty spot, telling BT what he said to his strike partner:
“A little, a little. I’m confident that Anthony will take it too. So no problem.
“It’s the next game now, so it’s important that we get three points.”

Rashford responds
Marcus Rashford tells BT Sport:
“The manager wanted me to increase the pace. That means for us to go forward. There were definitely spaces. We got Bruno and Paul on the ball. We looked consistently dangerous and we could score every time we went forward . “
“It was a real team effort. Those who started did well and the substitutes did well too. We couldn’t ask for much more in terms of attitude and intent to finish the game. It worked . ” our favor. “

Player Ratings – Fred and Rashford superb
David De Gea
A routine stop at 1-0 and an even better stop with the same number of points in the second half. 8th
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
In almost impregnable form, he seldom attacked in one night to keep watch in defense. Occasionally did a back three. 8th
Victor Lindelof
His excellent form continues. Almost flawlessly against another valued opponent and showed a rare adventure in getting the ball forward. 8th
Harry Maguire
United used their skills in the air in set pieces and Maguire never seemed to be beaten in his own area. 8th
Luke Shaw
Offers decent dead ball delivery and is more urgent in providing latitude for the midfield diamond. Did little wrong in both halves. 8th
