Handball – defeat against Netherlands – sport

After the surprise at the restart, there was nothing to gain for the German handball players in the second duel with world champions Netherlands. At the international match in Lingen, the team of national coach Henk Groener had to admit defeat after a bad start with 26:32 (10:18), two days earlier the hosts had just won in the same place (27:25).

“The Netherlands were just really hot and successfully took revenge. Overall, we made too many simple mistakes,” said Groener: “Overall, I am satisfied with the course, apart from the first 20 minutes of the second game.” Shenia Minevskaja was the best thrower for the selection of the German Handball Federation (DHB) with seven hits. Spectators were not allowed in the Emslandarena due to the corona pandemic.

The EM will take place from December 4th to 20th in Denmark and Norway. Germany will face co-hosts Norway, Poland and Romania in the preliminary round in Trondheim.
