As we announced this afternoon, the provincial committee has decreed the general delivery of all matches scheduled for this weekend in the province.

This discount follows the decree taken this Friday by the governor of the province Olivier Schmitz. As soon as our province is placed on alert level 4, i.e. the maximum alert level, new measures have been taken.

Closed refreshments and cafeterias

In consultation with the mayors of the various municipalities, the governor of the province took the decision on Friday to ban the opening of refreshments and cafeterias in clubs and sports establishments in the province of Luxembourg in order to fight against the upsurge in coronavirus cases. . In addition, the changing rooms, accessible only to players and coaches, must be closed within 45 minutes of the end of the sporting activity. All alcohol consumption will be prohibited. After the obligation imposed, recently, to close the refreshments from 11 p.m., the authorities have therefore shifted into high gear in the province of Luxembourg and the rule should also apply (perhaps with a few nuances). ) in the other Walloon provinces.

The Provincial Football Committee, after having received confirmation of these measures, therefore reacted directly by deciding a general discount for the matches scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. The closure of the refreshment stalls would indeed have deprived the football clubs of their main source of financial income.

Clarification that the meetings scheduled for Friday should take place since the decree will come into force this Saturday, October 10.
