The 21 Associations that support Mario Chávez to be the leader of the Mexican Tennis Federation (FMT), have convened an Ordinary Assembly on November 18 at the facilities of the Mexican Olympic Committee, where the board of directors will be defined.

“By agreement of the convening Presidents, as can be seen from the letters to hold the assembly, it is reported that this call is issued with the purpose of ending all legal disputes in relation to the elective processes held during 2020, leaving no effects all previous elections held by members of the FMT between January 23, 2020 and the current date. Likewise, it is invited to include an independent observer from the Mexican Olympic Committee (COM), the National Sports Commission (CONADE), the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the Central American and Caribbean Tennis Confederation (COTECC) ” , informs the call.

A few weeks ago the International Tennis Federation issued its position where it indicated that could not recognize the FMT chaired by Mario Chávez, nor the one led by Carlos González, and to end the conflict they must hold an Assembly where the country’s sports authorities are present, such as COM and Conade, and which must be held in November since otherwise tennis will be sanctioned Mexican.

This call is issued on the occasion of the letter that was sent by the ‘International Tennis Federation’ (International Tennis Federation – ITF), to the members of the FMT on September 30, 2020, in which it expresses as its main objective help this Federation to solve your governance problems and ensure successful elections in which all the members of the FMT participate and are recognized by the relevant national authorities, with the understanding that the convocation must be carried out in full compliance with the FMT statutes, “the document indicated.

Carlos González’s group has not manifested itself in this regard, but everything seems to indicate that they will not appear at that Ordinary Assembly.
