Fifa ranking: France melts on Belgium!

If Belgium retains its first place in the Fifa ranking, France operates a nice close following the matches played in early October.

The threat is becoming clearer for Belgium. At the top of the Fifa ranking since September 2018, the Red Devils have seen their leader status weakened by their recent results. Forced into a draw by Ivory Coast (1-1), the third of the last World Cup has indeed followed a defeat against England (2-1). Roberto Martinez’s men nevertheless provided the essentials in their last match by winning in Iceland (1-2). A capital victory since it allowed Belgium to keep its first place in the Fifa ranking.

Because at the same time, France, after teaching Ukraine (6-1) and drawing a draw against Portugal (0-0), won in Croatia (2-1). These good results nonetheless allow the Blues to make a nice close at the top of the standings. While they were 29 points behind in September, they now post a disbursement of only 13 units. With now 1765 points, Belgium has indeed lost 8 units while, conversely, France has gone from 1744 points to 1752.

In the wake of the two neighbors, Brazil consolidated its third place with 1725 points, England and Portugal completing the Top 5 with respectively 1669 and 1661 units. Spain follows, which gains a place to the detriment of Uruguay, while Argentina now appears in eighth place. Croatia and Colombia close the Top 10. A Top 10 which continues to elude Italy and Germany, respectively 12e and 14e.
