He was a passionate and great fighter for Salta basketball.

It was his most difficult game, after having given his whole life to Salta basketball. COVID-19 was relentless in the face of this fighter and passionate about the sport.
Eduardo Tapia, president of the Independent Athletic Club for 15 years passed away yesterday at the age of 63, and in his career he garnered thousands of friends, who today can only say goodbye to him from their hearts.
Last May, Tapia made one of his last risky plays. He gave everything to make a dream come true in times of a pandemic: Create a picnic area at the Lavalle 760 headquarters, so that the children of the area face the pandemic with less suffering.
“The institution is willing to give everything for this because we know that at this time the issue of sport is impossible to return in the short term and we must continue to take care of ourselves,” he said in an interview with El Tribuno at that time.
He could not take care of himself in his eagerness to help, but he left an indelible mark on Salta’s sport.
