Deconfinement. No outdoor badminton in Nancy

Like the other federations, the FFBad had to work on a protocol for resuming its activity. On Wednesday, it issued a first set of instructions concerning the bad outdoors. Because this discipline, which is practiced most of the time indoors or in a gymnasium, places where sports are prohibited at the moment, can also be conceived in the open air, provided that the weather is obviously conciliating.

There is even a codified variation of bad outdoors, “AirBadminton”, officially approved by the international federation last year and which allows you to play on grass, sand or hard.

A special steering wheel was even designed, the classics being too light to withstand the wind.

But, in fact, the clubs of the Nancy agglomeration do not yet offer this practice, given that it only saw the light of day very recently.

Equipment still inaccessible

More prosaically, many of them could not in any case welcome their licensees for bad outdoors, since the facilities do not yet have the authorization to welcome the public.

Example with the Cheminots de Nancy club (ASCNB). “It would be possible to play outside at the Absalon gymnasium in Heillecourt (one of the three gymnasiums to which the club has access), but it is still currently closed,” explains President Blandine Paris. The latter “hopes that the situation will settle down in June”.

On the side of Dommartemont, “we are still waiting for the green light to resume,” describes Amaury Gagelin, one of the youth coaches. In the case of the DBC, the René Nicklès gymnasium does not offer “really flat space next to it”. Suddenly, the Dommartemontais, who have put in place for two years a policy geared towards the training of young people, make their young students wait through social networks, by offering them small challenges.

TSB Jarville, another stronghold of the bad, is not able to resume either, as evidenced by the message posted on the club’s Facebook page. To get the snowshoes out, you will need a little more patience.
