The hockey team is currently known to have three cases, but some of the test results are still awaited.

Zeltiņš claimed that training at the sports school was interrupted for safety. Although one of the hockey players of the hockey team trains the school students, there is currently no reason to think that any of the young athletes have become infected. Testing for young athletes will not be organized either.

As in the spring, now, ten days, training at school will take place remotely.

The team and other contact persons of the sick were quarantined until October 23.

A decision has also been made to disinfect the Jelgava ice arena, which has already been done during the holidays. It does not currently host both athlete training and public skating.

It has already been reported that last weekend two cases of Covid-19 were detected in the Latvian “Optibet” hockey league unit “Zemgale” / LLU.

The organizers of the tournament on their “Instagram” page reported that in the “Zemgale” / LLU team the disease with Covid-19 was diagnosed in two people. However, the statement does not mention whether the persons in question are hockey players or coaches.

At the end of September, several Covid-19 cases were detected in another Super League team in Daugavpils “Dinaburga”, as a result of which the unit was forced to postpone its next four games.
