The athlete will be disqualified until May 13, 2022, so he will not be allowed to compete in the Tokyo Olympics next summer. The athlete has 30 days to file an appeal, and Colman will do so, according to his attorney, Novard Jacobs.

Colman was not available for doping tests three times in 12 months, so he received a temporary disqualification in June, but has now been replaced by a formal two-year disqualification.

Senior Athletes must indicate their location and time on the Anti-Doping Agency’s Tests on the Dedicated Platform. If an Athlete cannot be reached three times a year at a specified time and place, it is a doping offense.

The Athletics Integrity Association (AIU), the leading organization in the sport’s anti-doping practice, said in a statement that “there is no reason to suspect that an athlete has ever used prohibited substances.” However, the JSB says that the case will be investigated to the highest standards.

Colman is now considered the fastest man in the world since the end of the Usein Bol era. The American personal record in the 100-meter sprint is 9.76 seconds, which is the sixth fastest time in the history of athletics. Kolmen holds the world record in the 60-meter sprint.
