Bencharki, the historical scorer for foreigners, Zamalek, in the African championships

Ashraf Bencharki scored the first goal for Zamalek against Moroccan Raja in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semi-final, which was held at Mohammed V Stadium in the Moroccan capital.

Bencharki took advantage of Ahmed Sayed Zizou’s cross to rise and header past the Moroccan champions.

Bencharki managed to score his ninth goal with Zamalek in the African championships, with 7 goals in the Champions League, and two goals in the African Super Cup against Esperance of Tunisia, surpassing Abdullah Cisse’s number, who scored 8 goals.

Bencharki’s eight goals this season came against the first of August, two “goals” in the group stage, one against ZESCO United, and another against Tunisia’s Esperance, in addition to two goals against Somali Decadaha in the preliminary round, and the two African Super goals against Esperance.

Bencharki rose to fifth place in the most players in the history of Zamalek to score in the African championships, after Abdel Halim Ali, the historical top scorer with 23 goals, Jamal Abdel Hamid 16 goals, Hazem Imam 12 goals, Jamal Hamza and Hussam Hassan, Ayman Mansour and Tariq Yahya, each of them 10 goals.
