A basketball player in Uruguay, furious at a foul that was called at him, beat the judge of the match and only stopped when other basketball players interceded.
The reprehensible fact occurred when two teams of veterans, Atlético Welcome and Galacticos, faced each other in the city of Montevideo.

The victim had to be taken in an ambulance to a medical center. There she spent the night under observation.
The sports consequences were immediate. The player Pablo Faluotico was sanctioned with a ban from entering the facilities. Also, with the participation in the Welcome team, who decided to withdraw from the competition due to the embarrassing spectacle.

The Union of Official Basketball Judges (UJOBB) said it will make the corresponding complaints.
“Mario Añorga’s situation is stable (…) We will not participate in any tournament where the aggressor participates in the future,” he said about the judge.
