The participation of the Quindianos practicing badminton with the Caldas league is not fixed and there would be a possibility that they will continue with QuindíoHowever, a final answer will be given in the coming days.

The reason was because in days gone by The players and coaching staff had a meeting with the governor of Quindío, Roberto Jairo Jaramillo Cárdenas, and the general manager of Indeportes Quindío, Fernando Augusto Panesso Zuluaga, to seek an agreement and that they remain as representatives of the region for the Games National and Paranational Sports Coffee Axis 2023.

In Caldas, apparently, there would have been new conditions for young people to be in the league and certain internal discomforts between members of the rector.

María Julieth Pérez Tangarife, considered one of the most important athletes in Quindío in the discipline, as well as Juan Sebastián Gil Ardila, Sergio Zapata and Nicolás Morales Rey are the young people that the department wishes to retain and thus arrive with more confidence and strength at the fair .

LA CRÓNICA consulted the coach of the badminton league in the region, Hugo Alexánder Morales García, and confirmed that it is not yet confirmed that they will definitely stay in Quindío.

“Of course we have had meetings with the manager of Indeportes and the governor to seek a possible agreement, but we are still in talks, because there is nothing written,” said Morales García.

He added: “The sectional president has the will, but we know that this is about money and guarantees. Although the athletes have expressed comfort in Manizales, I have tried to persuade them to represent Quindío in the games”.

Morales García indicated that they are waiting for new meetings with the executive and Indeportes and look at the viability of what they have requested: “There are several issues that we raise with them, such as the need for monitors, supported athlete and a venue to train. It would be very irresponsible of me to say that it is already a fact that athletes continue with Quindío, when there is nothing written on paper ”.

María Julieth decided to go to Caldas because better options arose in sports, financial support, higher education and projection to act abroad. The same happened with Juan Sebastián, Sergio and Nicolás, who are looking for guarantees for the South American and Pan American cycle.

The faith of Indeportes

“They were able to register with Caldas in recent days, however, we made a new contact through the league and the Colombian federation of the discipline, we reviewed topics and commitments that we are going to acquire with them from support and alliances with the coaches. The management was ready ”, revealed the general manager of Indeportes.

When delving into the possible commitments to be acquired, he highlighted: “We are going to review the issue with the technical director, the idea is to bring him on commission for Indeportes, because he is a physical education teacher in Circasia, the athletes who achieved achievements in the past national games and are pre-selected with Colombia we will include them in the Supported Athlete program”.

Regarding minors, they analyze how to sponsor them starting next year for their trips to national and international competitions.
