Veteran WR Mohamed Sanu is available, and Dwayne Haskins loves Mohamed Sanu

The patriots intend to release the veteran recipient Mohamed Sanu. per NFL network.

The Washington Football team needs depth for every recipient.

Washington quarterback Dwayne Haskins and Sanu are close friends, according to Haskins.

It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to connect the dots here, and while it’s hardly a lock that Washington Sanu will haunt, it would make perfect sense.

Washington Football head coach Ron Rivera named Haskins as the team’s starting quarterback Wednesday, and before training camp began, the coach spoke to the receiver about the team’s question marks.

Second year pro Terry McLaurin is the star, and his sophomore colleague Steven Sims looks like a gamer ready to show up. After that, veteran Dontrelle Inman looks like a solid employee. Then it’s really just questions.

Kelvin Harmon is injured and gone for the year, rookie Antonio Gandy-Golden hasn’t trained in a few days and doesn’t look ready for prime time. Then it’s a collection of bare guys battling for roster points like Isaiah Wright, Cam Sims, and Trey Quinn.

Enter Sanu.

As a nine-year-old vet with 59 catches and more than 500 meters last season, Sanu would have been Washington’s second best recipient in 2019. When the quarterback grew up, he mentored Haskins.

Working with Haskins before and during his college career in the state of Ohio, Sanu gave the young passerby confidence in his ability to make it into the NFL.

“He means everything,” Haskins said of Sanu before being drafted last year. “He gave me all the tools to learn how to train as a professional. Being able to hang out with him in the off-season has been a great tool for me.”

So Washington has a chance to sign a veteran who can help out on the field and who is close friends with the new starting quarterback?

Sounds like child’s play.

Now there is a real question as to why New England is cutting Sanu. The Patriots offense is not full of stars and Sanu is being released for a reason.

But he’s still 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds. with a proven track record in the NFL. In 2018, Sanu had 66 catches for 838 yards and four touchdowns.

Washington would love this production from his third or fourth wideout. Indeed, Washington might love this production from its second wideout.

Do you still need a connection? Washington quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese was the Bengals’ QB coach and offensive coordinator for the four years Sanu played in Cincinatti from 2012 to 2015.

Washington needs help with WR, the coaching team knows Sanu and the quarterback loves him.

Sounds like a simple phone call.
