the presidential election party

This Monday, Barça announced the league calendar for this season, marked by the holding of presidential elections. Josep Maria Bartomeu announced a few days ago that the democratic process would start on March 15 during the first match played by the Barça team at the Camp Nou. If the current institutional agenda is maintained, keeping the question of the motion of censure, the Board of Directors will organize the elections coinciding with Barça-Valladolid on April 3-4, in the middle of Easter (from March 28 to April 4).

The exclusively sports plan is currently limited to the most basic ‘timings’. Ronald Koeman’s side will make their debut in the domestic championship on matchday 3 at home against Villarreal to meet a minimum summer break after playing in the final at 8 in Lisbon in the last Champions League. The first two games against Elche and Athletic Club at home are postponed pending a final date.

The two classics against Real Madrid will be played according to the usual script, with the first round in Barcelona. Barça will host the reigning league champions on October 25 at the Camp Nou and will visit the Santiago Bernabéu on April 11 on the 30th, heading into the decisive stretch of the season.

Derby in the Second Division

Espanyol, Girona and Sabadell met their schedule in the Second Division hours later. Vicente Moreno’s Sabadell and Espanyol will play the first Catalan derby on day 4 and 26; the white-and-blues will face Girona in the 13th and 22nd match of the competition and the Montilivi team will try to add the three points against the men of Antonio Hidalgo in the 20th and 32nd weekend of the calendar.
