Ibisevic changes to FC Schalke 04
FC Schalke 04 have found a new striker and, as expected, have signed Vedad Ibisevic. The 36-year-old attacker, who last had no new contract with Bundesliga rivals Hertha BSC, signed a one-year contract until June 30, 2021 after completing a medical check at Schalke. The Bundesliga team announced.
“Vedad is a real asset to our squad. An experienced, goal-threatening offensive player who is still burning for every single Bundesliga appearance,” said Schalke’s sports director Jochen Schneider. In the talks he convinced with his attitude: “He just wants to keep playing football at the highest level, and his qualities are undisputed.”
The fact that Ibisevic was able to be signed for a free transfer helps the financially troubled Revierclub. However, the former Bosnian international must accept compromises compared to his previous salary in Berlin. The “kicker” had reported that he should only collect a basic salary of 100,000 euros for the one-year contract. There will probably be higher bonuses and performance bonuses for the experienced striker.
Club Brugge interested in Eintracht striker Bas Dost
The Belgian champions FC Bruges are interested in signing striker Bas Dost from Eintracht Frankfurt. This was reported by “kicker” and the Dutch newspaper “Algemeen Dagblad”. It remains to be seen whether the 31-year-old attacker will actually be sold. According to a club spokesman, the player does not want to comment publicly on the issue.
It was only at the end of August 2019 that Dost switched from Sporting from Lisbon to Main for seven million euros.
