Shane Duffy completes Celtic transfer as Brighton defender ‘seals’ dream move

Shane Duffy reportedly “sealed” his dream move to Celtic.

The Daily Record claims the Hoops will announce the signing of the Irishman after setting terms on a seasonal loan agreement.

The 28-year-old will bond with Neil Lennon’s men after returning from international service with the Republic of Ireland and making his debut in Ross County.

Duffy was also targeted by West Ham and West Brom, but the die-hard Celtic fan was keen to join the Premiership champions for their Ten in a Row bid.

Paul Barber, Brighton CEO, paid tribute to the defender ahead of his Parkhead move.

On talkSPORT he said: “Shane has been absolutely great for us, literally from the day he joined.

“He’s a massive character on the pitch, he’s an even bigger character off the pitch. He is loved by everyone in the club.

“It’s a tough decision for Graham (Potter) because there are so many center-backs to put in a line-up, but Shane was great.

“We’ll be disappointed if we lose him, but we also understand that he wants to play football.”
