According to PSG star Neymar, excluded at the end of the match won by OM at the Parc des Princes on Sunday, his opponent Alvaro Gonzalez would have made racist remarks and would have called him a “monkey”. Monday, PSG gave him its support and asked the Professional Football League to “shed light on these facts”.

Paris Saint-Germain supported Monday, September 14, its star player Neymar, who said he was the victim of racist abuse on Sunday during the “clasico” lost at home (0-1) against Marseille.

“Paris Saint-Germain firmly supports Neymar Jr. who told him that he had been the victim of racist insults by an opposing player (…) Paris Saint-Germain is counting on the LFP’s disciplinary committee to investigate and make the light on these facts “, indicated the champion of France and vice-champion of Europe in a press release.

The number 10 of PSG has repeatedly denounced the “racism” of his Marseille opponent Alvaro Gonzalez, during the OM-PSG clasico which ended with five exclusions, including that of the Brazilian.

According to isolated images broadcast by the Téléfoot channel, Neymar complained shortly after the half-hour of play to the referee, repeating on numerous occasions “racismo, no” (“racism, no”), by pointing the Spanish defender of OM, Alvaro Gonzalez, responsible for marking him. “My only regret is that I didn’t hit that asshole in the face,” tweeted the Parisian number 10 an hour after the meeting.

In a second tweet, the Parisian striker claims to have been called “inc … monkey” by the former Villareal player and protests against his exclusion.

“No room for racism”

For his part, Alvaro Gonzalez denies having uttered these insults against the star of PSG. “There is no room for racism,” he wrote on Twitter, posting a photograph of his teammates on their return to Marseille.

OM quickly responded. “Alvaro Gonzalez is not racist, he demonstrated it to us by his daily behavior since his arrival at the club, as his teammates have already testified”, writes the Marseille club, which describes itself as “a symbol itself of anti-racism in French professional sport “. “The club is at the disposal of the disciplinary committee to fully cooperate in the investigation of all the events that have punctuated this meeting, and the 24 hours which preceded them,” the text continues.

It is therefore the disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League (LFP) which finds itself on the front line. She announced that she would look at the five red cards distributed at the end of the match on Wednesday to determine the number of suspension matches incurred by Parisians Neymar, Layvin Kurzawa and Leandro Paredes, and by Marseillais Dario Benedetto and Jordan Amavi.
