Tom Trbojevic is expected to retire from the NSW roster for the upcoming State of Origin series.
The young defender missed the end of Manly’s NRL season with a shoulder injury, in addition to missing half of the season with a thigh problem.
The Daily Telegraph reports that Trbojevic will be eliminated from the squad just days after being one of five players named on a tentative list by coach Brad Fittler.

Paul Kent, co-host of NRL 360, suggested the Sea Eagles star has been pressured by people at the club level who want to focus on getting fit for the start of the 2021 season.
Greg Alexander, Fittler’s senior advisor, told NRL 360 that while Trbojevic has not yet notified them of his withdrawal, if he does, he will be a huge loss to the team.
“Yes, it would. Tommy is a great player, ”said Alexander.
“You just have to look at what he did for NSW in 2018 … he played on the wing, he was one of our best players last year in the center right, was fantastic for us.
“If Tom isn’t available, that would be a blow.”
Trbojevic would most likely have played at the Centers for NSW during the series in November.
His natural position is the full-back, but James Tedesco already has his name engraved on this sweater.

Fittler told GB 2 he was unaware of the report that Trbojevic would resign.
“This is the first time I’ve heard of it,” said Fittler on Wednesday.
“I always said that I was measured by the (male) doctor Nathan Gibbs. I’ll be speaking to Nathan Gibbs in the next few days to see how much truth there is. “
