NFL – Ravens professional Thomas is also suspending the NFL season

Los Angeles (SID) – In the US football professional league NFL, the next player will forego the upcoming season due to the coronavirus pandemic. Punt Returner De’Anthony Thomas (27) will not be available for the Baltimore Ravens, as the team announced on Monday (local time).

Thomas is the second professional after Super Bowl winner Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (Kansas City Chiefs) to make use of the “opt-out option” in the wake of the corona crisis. This is a clause between the NFL and the NFLPA players’ union.

Duvernay-Tardif would rather continue to work as a doctor in the corona crisis. With Thomas the reasons were not explained in more detail. Both will now each receive a salary of 150,000 dollars (128,700 euros).
