N2: new start for US Lillebonne?

US Lillebonne is starting this new season in Nationale 2 a bit against all expectations. “If I had been told at the end of February that we would be returning to N2 in September, I would have said that it was impossible”, confirms President Bruno Renvoisé.

Indeed the Lillebonnais lost all their matches 8-0 (except one lost 7-1) in a pool of the North in which the level was very high with teams reinforced by many foreigners. “We didn’t have the weapons to fight against teams that were made up of players far superior to our own. “ And then the competition was stopped and the decision of a white season was taken by the authorities. This will allow Lillebonnais to start again at the same level as before with new ambitions in a context that has changed a lot. “First of all, we inherited a rather Parisian hen with a lower level than last season. And, above all, the regulations have changed compared to foreigners: each team will have a limited number of non-French players, they will have to line up three at most. This will significantly level the level and allow 100% French teams like us to be able to exist. “

The ambition of the team is to maintain itself even if the workforce has made some changes. “We have kept all our players with the exception of Katarina Galénic for whom we have decided not to renew her contract. This player, Croatian No.2 when she arrived in January 2019, never gave us what we hoped for. In addition, his visits represented a very high cost. “

Suddenly, the club welcomes two new elements, first of all Perinne Caby, defector of Saint-Pierre-lès-Elbeuf, who will take on the roles of player, captain and trainer in collaboration with Sébastien Bourbon. Mathieu Yéné, who played in Val-de-Reuil will strengthen the male workforce, made up of Paul Tocqueville, Corentin Alvarez as well as Pierre Bertel and Sébastien Bourbon who will be able to provide services. On the women’s side, Angélique Guilloux will be accompanied by Perrine Caby, Acia Lefort and Julie Delaune, who will complete the squad, if necessary, but only at home.
